Care to elaborate? But no name calling, please.

Honestly, I do not know where to begin. Has he ever apologized to "the people" for instructing them to dig in on March 1? How he can throw insults at everyone in office, those who support the existence of the Armenian state, those who oppose the government (but do not support him) and still speak on behalf of the people is outrageous.

If I had been standing on the streets on March 1, I would be demanding answers, not from the authorities, but from Levon and Nikol.

Instead he seems content to lob insults at everyone else, while the imminent revolution is on it way. The same way the police were going to join, the same way the police were going to join, the same way the army was going to join, the same way the oligarchs were going to join etc.

Fact is, there is nothing to join. What next? Hire an mercenary army to attack Armenia?

So, in what what way do you think Pashinyan is responsible for a police car that run over a person in the street, as we've all seen in the internet.
Even if we believe the official version of events (which even the most naive Diaspora Armenians don't any more)how on earth could this action of the police be justified?
That's just one example, there are dozens of them

existence of the Armenian state =
Serzh Sargsian being president.

That's a really weird logic, at least to some people.

To the original anonymous - I think there is a certain fundamental truth which you, and others I have had this painful discussion with, are either missing, or choosing to ignore. That is, no government has the right to open fire on its own people. The fact is, if those protest had been of a fundamentally violent nature, they had more opportunity and numbers than did the group who were responsible for the kidnapping and beating of parliament members in 1996. Or, on the other extreme, it only takes a few perpetrators to be as violent, if they are so driven, as to committ assassination - think back to October 27, 1999.
I'm not sure where you live, or whom you consider to be role models. Generally, most people in history who motivate their own people to stand up against oppression, against violence, for change, are seen as Good.
Would you say that MLK was telling African Americans in the 60's to "dig in" as you put it, or Gandhi, or Bhutto, for that matter?

Tsitsernak,
Even if we accept the government version about the events, the use of force was inadequate and inefficient.
In France hundreds of shops and thousands of shops had been burnt,
as well as libraries and schools, and yet there was NOT A SINGLE casualty during this whole period.
In Yerevan we had a couple of shops broken up (or what a tragedy!) and a couple of old cars burnt - and 9 dead people, dozens or may be hundreds of injured people.
So I guess the Armenian authorities' approach is that Mr Lfik Samo's nad Mr Sedrak Kotcharyan's property is sacred, and it has to be defended at any cost, even if it means sacrificing lives of civilians and policemen

I meant hundreds of shops and thousands of cars in France, sorry

I never said that Pashinyan is solely responsible for all the ills in society, all the mistakes of March 1, nor am I justifying the actions of authorities.

My point is that Pashinyan is a journalistic disgrace. He is a demagogue who has a large share of the blood of March 1 on his hands.

Comparing the actions of the radical opposition with Gandhi or MLK is a joke.

Neither of those people whipped up their followers with hate speech or racism. Quite the opposite.

A better analogy can be found in Germany in the 30s.

Sadly, the current Vehapar is as unspiring a national figure as Serzh Sargsyan. Sorry, but if he has failed to garner the sympathy of the average Armenian citizen that's his problem, not mine. He is not immune to constructive criticism and being "the leader of the flock" makes him just as accountable for his deeds and actions as the "commander and chief of the nation". (Ramik)

Far as I am from being a fan of Nikol (I think he's too emotional-driven, too radical, too uncompromising, and I could go on), I have to defend his and the opposition's stance on March 1st.

Their main purpose was to keep people at Myasnikyan's statue, because they said that it was the safest place in Yerevan at that moment. You can disagree, but hindsight's always 20/20: they made that judgment call at that time and proceeded for the next several hours to do everything to keep people from taking to the streets.

Who knows what would have happened if you had people leaving the square en masse, filling the streets, clashing with the police...

The overwhelming sentiment in the square was to march to LTP's house to "see their leader", and this is why Aram Sargsyan, Nikol, and others insisted that everyone just stayed there and waited for LTP to come to them. So to say that Nikol told people to "dig in" is a bit disingenous. The idea wasn't to stay there to fight the police, on the contrary, the purpose of keeping people in the square was to avoid that confrontation.

1) he said dig in
2) he said arm yourselves
3) he called on the state servants to join
4) ltp abandoned the people (again)

I didn't realize being under involuntary house arrest counted as abandoning people

International visitors who have visited Levon at his house (including Human Rights Watch) have long confirmed that he was free to move around on March 1, but chose not to.

Sad, but true. Answer to the depleted following, Levon.

Looks like the revisionist history by the SS team is in full swing. I will be publishing the chronicles to nip this in the bud.
