Forged documents and the banditocracy.

There is very little that the banditocracy headed by Serj Sargsian can do to surprise me...

In Russia there was a a lawmaker called Levon Chakhmakhchian. Mr. Chakhmakhchian was elected from Kalmikia and also was a close buddy of Robert Kocharian. He was also involved in an organization called 'Russian-Armenian Business Partnership' ( "Российско-армянское деловое сотрудничество"). Everything would be fine and dandy if there was no one thing. Mr. Chakhmakhchian stole 1.5 million dollars and was later caught together with a relative of his who worked as an assistant to the auditor at Duma, and with the chief accountant at the above mentioned organization.

As part of his defense, Mr. Chakhmakhchian presented documentation about his legal status and place of residence. The court found that these documents were forgeries.

Unfortunately, these forgeries were done at the Armenian Embassy in Moscow...

Mr. Chakhmakhchian was today sentenced to 9 years in a correctional facility. His relative got 8 and the accountant got 7 years.

Why not post this on khosq.com -- it's both Interesting and Important.

The image uploading is a bit flaky and doesn't work right now (temporarily), but you can embed images from external source for now.

I should say... That face looks both scary and amusing. ...like a hobgoblin from a horror flick ;)

It was taken while he was being sentenced. He is yelling behind a bulletproof glass.

I think the Russian TV station could have used a better picture. I don't know whether the reason for this particular picture is the shocking value of it, or are they trying to say something about the Armenians. As a Libertarian I would have preferred if it was the 'shocking value' but there are far more sinister reasons out there.
