An Azg tid-bit.

Here's a tidbit from Azg about one of the less lucky Armenophobes in Turkey. Azg, citing the Turkish Zaman newspaper, claims that Dogu Perinchek, a now infamous genocide-denier, actually has Armenian heritage. If true (I don't trust Zaman to do its due diligence and Azg has effectively shifted the risk to Zaman), we have the Armenian version of Unclue Ruckus.

Ըստ թուրքական «Զաման» օրաթերթի, Թուրքիայի բանվորական կուսակցության նախագահ Դողու Փերինչեքը, որը հայտնի դարձավ Ցեղասպանությունը ժխտելու իր հայտարարություններով, ինչի պատճառով նույնիսկ կանգնեց շվեյցարական դատարանի առաջ, ազգությամբ հայ է: Թերթը պնդում է, որ նա ծագումով Երզնկայի Ակն Ապուչեղ գյուղից է, որտեղ նրա պապի հայրը եղել է Ստեփան Պերինչօղլին կամ Պերինչօղլյանը, իսկ վերջինիս որդին, դեռ 19-րդ դարի երկրորդ կեսին, առերես իսլամ էր ընդունել, որպեսզի իր համայնքի ղեկավար քարտուղարի պաշտոնը ստանձնի:

Funny typo you made there ;)

There are plenty of self-hating Jews, too (take Torquemada--no one expects the Spanish Inquisition!), so self-hating Armenians aren't a stretch. Repression is bad for the soul...

(By the way, when I opened the link for Ruckus, I thought I'd see a picture of Condi instead)
