British Humor.

From the Russian Service on BBC. Pictured are presidents Obama and Medvedev in Kremlin, in front of the Tsar Canon. The caption of the photo says:

Dmitriy Medvedev showcased a few products of Russian defense industries to Barack Obama.

Interestingly the grapeshots doesn't even fit to the canon's caliber. While the rest of world was trying to increase the efficiency Russians were only building bigger and bigger which never worked e.g Tsar Bell.
The biggest country in the world nevcer managed to build a car independently, and an MP3 player or a laptop will always be a dream.

Yes, I find that amazing, too. They have had brilliant people so it's not like they lack people. I think it's the political and cultural environment. Innovation is not encouraged. So the only place where people could excel was the arts and that is perhaps the legacy of Peter the Great's encouragement of the arts.

Oh, yes, and then there was the missile technology that was encouraged by the state.

And then there is putting cars in the dealerships...

Here is a small report on how they put a new Mazda 3 inside the dealership somewhere in Moscow. A less insane way would have been to have larger doors.

Just got to wondering about this picture: Does anything pictured here belong to Saakashvili?

I am still wondering what would belong to Sahakashvili - the loose canon or the big balls?

BBC has changed the caption to "Дмитрий Медведев показал Бараку Обаме Кремль" (Dmitriy Medvedev showed Barak Obama around the Kremlin).

I wonder who the jokester was.
