Kocharian apparently hits back.

The "Armenia Election Monitor 2008" has an entry about Armenian President Robert Kocharian responding to Levon Ter-Petrosian's allegations at the recent rally on October 26, 2007.

Here is a snippet from Kocharian's speech (this would be a legitimate accusation if there was no WAR during those years; as the past was, this sounds at least dishonest):
"...one of the most developed and industrialized republics of the Soviet Union” when the Ter-Petrosian-led HHSh swept to power in 1990. “Within three to four years Armenia became one of the poorest countries of the world.”

Am I the only one who finds it absurd that a sitting president, whose term to serve is over, devotes his time to hit back a politician who is a presidential candidate? It's the job of the presidential candidates to criticize the shortcomings of other candidates and in this case LTP has Prime Minister Serzh Sargsian in his sights. Let Serzh defend his record and his government.

It is not Kocharian's business and he should butt out!

Here is the full coverage.
