The State Department of the US issues a damning report on human rights in Armenia during 2009:

The good news is that there is a clear result of the public discontent with the banditocracy tactics of suppression of people speaking against the brutality of the nature of the regime.
1. Mariam Sukhudian honored by the US Embassy in Yerevan.
2. The Armenian police drop the criminal charges against Mariam Sukhudian the very next day.

Goes to show what pressure has the potential to do,... what effect countries such as the US can have, when they so desire... when it is in their interests - or at least not against them
