Today is the 15-th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia. 15 years ago the Armenian nation decided to no longer be part of the Soviet Union.

Happy Birthday!

The more I lok at this stature of Andranik Ozanian, the more I realize how horribly untalented it is. It's probably a litle bit better than the Gevork Chavush statue in Khor Virap, though.

It is a very bad work. The artist tried to create dynamism however failed instead, the horses seemed to be rocket propelled (fire from their arses) and Andranik wearing cowboy pants. The other pathetic part is the way Andranik is holding the sword; it reminds me a 2nd grade child's drawing of a horseman that I saw somewhere. I also don’t understand that what the two horses have to do here. Is it about showing that Andranik could ride two horses ( was a good rider) or how proude and good general he was? I think a solemn statue of a general on a horse would be more appropriate. Like peter the great in St Petersburg or Italian status. On this aspec the Statue of General Baghramian in Yerevan is better.
I think the sculptor whoever it is tried to copy Sasoontsi David by Hratchia Kochar.

Yes, you never know whether Andranik is wearing pants or is he naked. And the boots look weird, too. Pay attention to the rear legs of the horses - they look like those evil walking machines in sci-fi movies (the ones that usually have a high capacity machine gun).
