Selling Lawmaker Seats.
Today a corrupt official was arrested trying to sell a seat in the legislative branch. The governor of Illinois, a state where dead people routinely cast ballot, was arrested trying to sell the seat left vacant by Obama. Mr. Rod R. Blagojevich was also trying to get the editors of Chicago Tribune fired for publishing less than favorable items for him. (WSJ article)
I had a sense that this man was up to no good. When you enter Illinois on I-94, there is a gate with his name carved on limestone welcoming you. A normal person would not have had such a grandiose way of making people know who was in charge of the state.

This has got to be some kind of record (from Wikipedia):
Polling completed on October 13, 2008 put Blagojevich's approval rating among Illinois voters at 4%.
Amazing. What was the margin of error - 4 percent? :)
