Covering the 'inauguration'.

This is how the local and foreign journalists were allowed to cover Serj's 'inauguration'. They were herded into a room where a small TV showed the ceremonies. The journalists were not allowed to physically be present where Serj was.

SS must be really afraid of people. I can't say I blame him. If I were in his shoes, I probably would be afraid, too.

You would never be in his place.

Haik - maybe you're right - those of us who would choose to accept defeat and give up power rather than open fire on our own people would not be in Sergik's place.
Most of us would realize that once we're at that point that we're scared of our own citizens, something is dreadfully wrong, would never allow it to get to where it was and is now.
Thanks for the insight.
Unless I misunderstood what you're saying?

The creepiest thing about this is that it is following a trend. It started in the US, and it is spreading all over the world. This is George Bush, Inc.'s, corporate remaking of the world. Serj wouldn't be smart enough to come up with an innovation. Someone is telling him what to do.

Today, everything follows a script. No matter what happens, the reporters always write the same story. And people always read the same story and think that its just another day when all the normal things happen. They couldn't be further from the truth.

We are now all cattle.

Armen, I think this is a fusion of the Soviet and BushCo best practices. It's a hybrid of these two systems.

Nazarian, I agree. The worst of both worlds. Something like a Stalinist corporatism with a smiling PR face.

Great point, Armen
in fact sometimes the Serzhiks of the world seem to me like Bush clones.
Let's hope after Obama kicks some republican ass, new Obamas will rise all around the world:)))
Certainly someone needs to kick out the republicans in Armenia too

Obama. I'm worried about him; he's been looking a little tired lately. And Clinton is a monster, just like Samantha Power said she is.

The primaries are going to be held here in Philly not long from now. We'll see what happens. One thing is true, though: If McCain becomes president, that will be the final nail in the coffin of the US.

But there is hope. Obama and Ter-Petrossian have inspired the people in so much the same way, it makes me wonder whether there are aliens controlling world history.
