The Journal Of An Armenian In Exile.
I was going thru Azg today and there was a picture there. It looks like a bad joke; a highway overpass on Barekamoutyoun square in Yerevan.
Is this photoshopped or have the Yerevan urban planners lost their minds?

No, not photoshopped. As someone who lives a minute away on foot from the construction that's pretty much what it looks like. Yes, they have lost their minds and Komitas street further on up as been unbearable to drive up for the past few weeks.
In fact, a few times it's been impossible with traffic at a total standstill and drivers of buses telling their passengers to get out and walk because it's impossible to continue any further, including when taking a bottle-necked diversion via Kochar.
The whole city is pretty much insane in terms of construction work, to be honest, and I don't think it's coincidental that a) there is a presidential election in February and the Mayor will likely vacate his position when the constitutional changes kick in next year.
A lot of money is being spent at the same time regardless of the disruption and chaos it causes. I think there are only a number of reasons why and none of them are good.
Wow, talk about crazy stuff. They are gonna build a ghetto out of Barekamutyun. Can you imagine having an overpass in front of your bedroom window?
Such money making project happen everywhere in Yerevan. I herd while there that when digging near to Rossia cinema they hit the metro tunnel.
They fear that their days are counted so they dig as much tax payer gold as possible.
h, I have a hard time believing that. That is idiotic planning and can't happen if anyone older than 8 years is involved.
es inch soskali tesarana?
bloody hell... what are their thinking with???
this ultimately impractical and a total waste of (very scare taxpayer money) money.
Above everything, this is totally UGLY and I hate ugliness. I hate ugliness!!!!!!!!!
