Interestingly the grapeshots doesn't even fit to the canon's caliber. While the rest of world was trying to increase the efficiency Russians were only building bigger and bigger which never worked e.g Tsar Bell.

Yes, I find that amazing, too. They have had brilliant people so it's not like they lack people. I think it's the political and cultural environment. Innovation is not encouraged. So the only place where people could excel was the arts and that is perhaps the legacy of Peter the Great's encouragement of the arts.

ReplyDeleteHere is a small report on how they put a new Mazda 3 inside the dealership somewhere in Moscow. A less insane way would have been to have larger doors.
