Shameful translation of an article.

The Christian Science Monitor recently published an article about Nagorno Karabagh. Today Haykakan Zhamanak has an article analyzing it. Unfortunately, it seems that the author, Anna V. Hakobyan, has misunderstood what was written in CSM and is making the piece into a propaganda tool. I feel sorry for the H Zhamanak readers who will see her article instead of the original.

Here is the axis around which the misrepresentation revolves:
CSM: Azerbaijan still claims Nagorno-Karabakh, and, for now, the international community agrees. So the legions of aid workers and international investment that normally flood postwar zones have largely stayed away.
HZh: Ադրբեջանը մինչ օրս պահանջում է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը` այժմ նաեւ ունենալով միջազգային հանրության համաձայնությունը: Ապա ներկայացնելով պատերազմի եւ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի անկախության պատմությունը` լրագրողը գրում է, որ այսօր արդեն օգնություններն ու միջազգային ներդրումները, որ հետպատերազմյան շրջանում մտնում էին Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ, մեծ մասամբ այլեւս գոյություն չունեն, եւ երկրի վարչապետը` 'պսպղուն ճաղատով եւ թավ բեղերով լուրջ ու պրոֆեսիոնալ այդ մարդը', ստիպված է երկրի տնտեսության համար ողջ պատասխանատվությունը անձամբ կրել:

The 'for now' should have been translated to 'առայժմ'. And the second sentence should have been translated to '..օգնությունները և միջազգային ներդրումները, որ սովորաբար լցվում են հետպատերազմական շրջաններ, մեծ մասամբ հեռու են մնացել'.

But that way Ms. Hakobyan's piece would lose its steam and she would only be able to say that CSM has published a realistic article through the eyes of an outsider.
